Prof. Bryan T. Adey presents at this years IAM Global Conference 2022
Prof. Bryan Adey will present at this years IAM Virtual Global Conference 2022, which will take place from 15-16 June. He will talk about how to make investment decisions that optimally improve water supply resilience, taking into consideration both future uncertainty and management flexibility.

The IAM Virtual Global Conference 2022 is the Institute of Asset Management's Global event, where the worldwide asset management community is provided with the chance to engage with each other virtually.
The 2022 conference will focus on how maturity yields asset management benefits at all levels of the maturity scale, whilst considering how the Circular Economy is both a driver and outcome of asset management, along with other Mega Trends, and share real examples of benefit realization from each of these at all levels of adoption.
Prof. Bryan T. Adey will be presenting an example of how to make investment decisions that optimally improve water supply resilience, taking into consideration both future uncertainty and management flexibility.
The demonstration is done by evaluating investment strategies for a 38 mega liters per day water treatment plant serving an urban area with approximately 75 000 inhabitants, where there is uncertainty with respect to future population growth, industrial production, external demand and the amount of rainfall due to climate change. It is shown that the quantification and comparison of the possible reductions in service and intervention costs over comparably long periods enables the optimal investment decisions – that is, the ones with the optimal trade-offs between stakeholders.
