Steven Chuo

Steven Chuo joined the Chair of Infrastructure Management in April, working with Prof. Dr. Bryan Adey on data and process analysis to enable digitalized railway intervention planning.

Prior to moving to Switzerland, he worked in risk management and decision support for an engineering consulting firm in Canada, primarily involved in risk assessment for the planning and construction of railway projects. The work also consisted of research collaboration with the National University Rail (NURail) Center, a consortium of seven partner colleges and universities in the United States dedicated to the advancement of railway transportation engineering research and education.

In 2018, Steven received his BASc in Civil Engineering at the University of Waterloo with Honours, where he participated in the co-operative program and accumulated two years of professional experience in the architecture, engineering and construction industry. Steven subsequently received his MASc in 2020 at the University of Waterloo as well, where his research thesis focused on reducing rework associated with traditional fabrication processes in the construction industry, and improving worker productivity and overall system efficiency.
