We welcome our new PhD student Hossein Nasrazadani!

Hossein Nasrazadani joined the Infrastructure Management team as a PhD Student from the beginning of 2021. His research is aimed at enhancing the resilience of infrastructure systems by developing decision support tools for post-disaster management of infrastructure systems.

Hossein has been extensively working on infrastructure resilience research projects at the Center for Infrastructure Sustainability and Resilience Research (external page INSURER). His latest work [external page DOI] on evaluating the community resilience, which was also implemented as the resilience computation module in software external page Rtx, received a great deal of interest from academics and industry experts alike, giving him the opportunity to share his ideas and try to expand them during his doctoral research at ETH. 

He completed his MASc at University of Toronto, in which he gained extensive knowledge and experience in data analytics and machine learning. He also has a solid background in Civil Engineering and Industrial Engineering through his MSc and double-major BSc studies at Sharif University of Technology. Besides his studies, he worked for 5+ years at an infrastructure asset management consultancy firm where he could gain valuable practical experience. He has also received several awards and grants from University of Toronto, Iran’s National Elites Foundation, Sharif University of Technology, and Tehran Municipality.
