Research area

Dr. Galleguillos´s research currently focuses on developing methods to rapidly estimate the offer and the demand of ecosystem services in big cities based on remote sensing datasets. In addition he is studying relations between city’s neighbourhood typologies and ecosystem services provision, in order to establish clear connections that will allow fostering sustainable landscape planning in the near future. Understanding peri-urban areas and their development is also in his research focus. He also explores how people perceive and interact with landscape using state of the art 3D visualizations based on terrestrial Lidar data and point-cloud technology.
