Doctoral candidate Orlando Roman, from Prof. Bryan T. Adey's Chair of
Infrastructure Management, together with the Future Cities Laboratory
Global participated in the ESPON territorial research conference "New
research avenues for territorial development and cohesion in Europe" that
took place in Brussels.

Orlando  Roman was part of the panel “AI for Territorial Futures: Scientific Innovation and Policy Intelligence in European Spatial Planning” with external page Roland Gaugitsch, Mikel Berra Sandín and external page Marco Del Fiore.

His presentation included work done at the Future Cities Laboratory Global
alongside external page Dr. Qiming Ye and external page Prof. Prateek Bansal on sequential decision analytics, surrogate modelling and reinforcement learning to support transport and urban planning under future uncertainty.
