New publication by PhD candidate David Zani in the journal Results in Engineering!

Prof. Bryan T. Adey's Chair of Infrastructure Management congratulates PhD candidate David Zani on the publication of the article “An approach to support reference class forecasting when adequate project data are unavailable” in the journal Results in Engineering.

In this article, David Zani presents an approach to increase the ability to use Reference Class Forecasting (RCF) in managing cost overruns in large infrastructure projects. The proposed approach addresses the situation where it would be nice to use RCF but adequate reference classes are unavailable. In these situation it can be used to develop a reference class through the use of empirical weights and previously unsuitable reference data. This approach is demonstrated through a number of examples. The paper is from David Zani's doctoral thesis.
