Orlando Roman Garcia presents at the 10th meeting of the DMDU!
PhD student Orlando Román García from Prof. Bryan Adey's Chair of Infrastructure Management at ETH Zürich, presented at the 10th Annual Meeting of the Society for Decision Making under Deep Uncertainty (DMDU), which took place at Deltares, Delft, the Netherlands from October 30th to November 1st.
Orlando Roman Garcia presented two research outputs from the Adaptive Mobility, Infrastructure and Land Use module at the Future Cities Laboratory Global:
- Exploratory modelling of stochastic land use cover change (LUCC) future scenarios for spatial planning (read article)
- Identifying adaptive pathways by surrogating computationally expensive agent-based models (read article)
When the future is unpredictable, DMDU can help develop plans that are adaptable to future changing conditions. Therefore DMDU moves from a “predict and provide” approach towards exploring multiple futures, identifying potential options and monitoring uncertain conditions over time.
