Arnór Elvarsson presents at this year's Meet&Share Research Day at ETH Zurich!
Arnór Elvarsson, from Prof. Bryan Adey's Chair of Infrastructure Management will present his research at this year's Meet&Share Research Day, organized by the Association of Scientific Staff at D-BAUG.
On October 26th, the Association of Scientific Staff at D-BAUG invites all Master students, researchers and professors to join the department’s annual meet and share event. Selected case studies will be presented to showcase the manifold ways in which research at D-BAUG helps engineer a more sustainable future. Keynotes will be given by Professors Eleni Chatzi and Max Maurer. After the talks, there will be a networking Apéro to meet other researchers.
Arnór will talk about the complexities of infrastructure planning, examining the balance between meeting societal needs effectively and efficiently. Similar to a jelly bean feast for the audience – only possible after meticulous bean-counting - our planning decisions involve careful calculations and trade-offs. How do we strike the right balance, improving decision-making for the greater good? Together, we'll navigate these complexities, uncovering the point where effectiveness and efficiency converge for a sustainable future using the value of responsiveness.
