Research exchange between Iowa State University and the Chair of Infrastructure Management!
This summer, Prof. Dr. Bryan Adey's Chair of Infrastructure Management, hosted two guest researchers, Mr. Dela Houssou and Mr. Alexis Barrera, and their faculty advisors, Prof. Dr. Alice Alipour and Prof. Dr. Behrouz Shafei, from Iowa State University.

Their stays were part of a project sponsored by the USA National Science Foundation (NSF), promoting research exchanges in international settings. This multi-year project focuses on the Integration of Innovative Structural Solutions and Data-Enabled Planning Strategies for Infrastructure Resilience in an Evolving Climate (INSPIRE). The exchanges have facilitated not only individual research projects but also team-based interaction opportunities at the intersection of performance analysis and risk assessment. Capitalizing on the research areas of mutual interest in Switzerland and the USA, the ultimate goal is to train a new generation of workforce that can effectively contribute to improving the resilience of civil infrastructures.
The Infrastructure Management Group mission is to improve the construction and management of infrastructure. For more information visit our webpage
