Hossein Nasrazadani presents at the 14th International Conference on Applications of Statistics and Probability in Civil Engineering (ICASP)

Prof. Dr. Bryan Adey’s Chair of Infrastructure Management was represented at the 14th International Conference on Applications of Statistics and Probability in Civil Engineering (ICASP) by PhD student Hossein Nasrazadani. The conference took place in Dublin, Ireland from 9 -13 July 2023.

Prof. Bryan Adey's Chair of Infrastructure Management, represented by PhD student Hossein Nasrazadani organized a session together with Prof. Alice Alipour from IOWA State University and Prof. Jürgen Hackl from Princeton University titled "climate-resilient infrastructure systems”.

Hossein Nasrazadani also held a presentation on: "Stress testing the transportation system subject to climate-induced hazards: A simulation approach" at this year's ICASP. It proposes a simulation-based approach to define, conduct, and assess multiple types of stress tests. By subjecting transportation infrastructure to rigorous scenarios and simulations, one can identify vulnerabilities, assess their impact, and develop resilient strategies, similar to what is pursued in banking industry's risk management practices. The proposed stress testing approach serves to the development of the United Nation’s Stress Testing framework for transport system.
