Orlando Roman Garcia's paper published in the journal AGU
The paper «Optimizing Rural Drinking Water Supply Infrastructure to Account for Spatial Variations in Groundwater Quality and Household Welfare in Coastal Bangladesh” by Orlando Roman Garcia, PhD student at Prof. Bryan T. Adey's Chair of Infrastructure Management, was published in the journal AGU Advancing Earth and Space Science.
The paper contributes to water infrastructure planning by using comprehensive spatial datasets of household’s surveys and drinking water supply. This information has been used to explore optimal strategies to locate and prioritize investments through a multi-objective optimization approach. This has wider relevance given that the financial resources to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Target 6.1, of safe and affordable water for all, are beyond most governments and donors.
The Infrastructure Management Group mission is to improve the construction and management of infrastructure. For more information visit our webpage
