Orlando Roman Garcia graduated in Civil Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru (BSc) and in Engineering for Sustainable Development at the University of Cambridge (MPhil). His master thesis focused on long-term infrastructure planning for Saint Lucia and contributed to a National Infrastructure Assessment for the island by UNOPS. He also received graduate diplomas in both Economics and Project Finance.
Before joining the Chair of Infrastructure Management at ETH Zurich, Orlando worked for 7 years in engineering consultancy in Peru carrying out structural, geotechnical and seismic analysis for buildings, water dams and mine waste structures. He also held a short research period at the University of Oxford investigating spatial optimization of water infrastructure in Coastal Bangladesh.
